Not many country bands have enjoyed the same level of success as Alabama - their 25 year reign at the top of the charts, from 1977 to 2002, only coming to an end when the much-loved foursome decided to call it quits in 2003.
With an astounding 42 number one hits to their name, Fort Payne's finest export were largely responsible for shifting the public focus away from the traditional country solo singer format, helping to pave the way for the country groups of the '90s and beyond, such as Lonestar, Little Texas, Reckless Kelly and Rascall Flatts.
Jeff Cook was the group's guitarist since its original incarnation, Wildcountry, in 1972. He also contributed vocals, fiddle, mandolin and banjo, and wrote, or co-wrote, various album cuts (he cites If I Could Just See You Now and Pictures and Memories as his two personal favourites).
